Amle Ka Achaar

 

Ingredients

Quantity : 1.5 kgs. (Appx.)

  • 1 kg. amlas
  • 100 gms. salt
  • 50 gms. red chilli (lal mirch)
  • 50 gms. ginger (adrak) minced
  • 25 gms. nigeila (kalaunji)
  • 1 tbsp. cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1 cup oil

Method

Wash amlas with cold water and wipe them. Chop them in pieces with the help of a knife and remove stones.

Heat oil in a kadahi and saute jeera and kalaunji. Add adrak and fry deep for a minute.

Add amla pieces, salt and chilli. Cook on low heat, while stirring all the time. Remove.

When cooled, fill in a glass ‘barni’ (jar).

This pickle is delicious, digestive and nutritious.
