Apple Jam

 

Ingredients

Quantity: 2.75 kgs. (Appx.)

  • 1 kg. ripe apples
  • 1.5 kgs. sugar
  • 8 gms. citric acid

Method

Dissolve salt in water (2% salt to the total quantity of water) and prepare a mixture.

Peel apples. Remove seeds. Grate and add to the solution.

Add 2 glasses of water and citric acid to sugar and prepare its syrup (ek tar ki chashni).

Transfer apple pieces from the mixture to the syrup and cook.

When apple pieces soften and the syrup thickens, switch the heat off.

Store in wide mouthed bottles while the jam is still hot.
