Hot & Sour Chutney

 

Ingredients

Quantity: 4 cups (Appx.)

  • 20dry red chillies
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic (lahsun)
  • 4 almonds
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tsp. ginger (adrak) grated
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 3 tbsp. tamarind (imli) juice
  • 150 ml. cream
  • 0.5 tsp. capsicum (shimla mirch) ground

salt to taste

Method

Grind mirch, pyaz, lahsun, badaam and shimla mirch together with some water and prepare a fine paste.

Heat oil and fry the paste for 2 minutes, while stirring all the time.

Add adrak, sugar, imli juice and salt and mix together thoroughly.

Add cream. Cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes or till oil separates. Stir frequently.

Remove when cooked.

Serve hot or cold.
