Lasode Ka Achaar

Ingredients

Quantity : 2.5 kgs. (Appx.)

  • 2 kgs. lasode
  • 50 gms. turmeric (haldi) powder
  • 25 gms. red chilli ground
  • 50 gms. fenugreek seeds (methidana)
  • 50 gms. mustard (rai)
  • 25 gms. nigella (kalaunji)
  • 25 gms. cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 10 gms. king’s cumin (ajwain)
  • 350gms. salt
  • 0.5 tsp. asafoetida (heeng)

Method

Boil lasodas till soft. Remove, peel and spread under the Sun for a while to dry.

Coarsely grind methidana and rai. Mix with other spices and keep aside.

Heat oil till it boils. Switch off the heat. Put all the masalas in oil. Immediately add lasodas. Stir well for two minutes. Fill in a martban and keep aside.

Start consuming this achaar after 8-10 days.
