Sonth
Ingredients
Quantity: 3.25 kgs. (Appx.)
- 1.25 kgs. mango pulp
- 1.5 kgs. sugar
- 150 gms. ginger (adrak) grated
- 50 gm. salt
- 2 tsps. red chilli ground
- 100 gms. dates (chhuhara) chopped
- 100 gms. currants (kishmish)
- A pinch of edible red colour
Method
Mix sugar and salt with the mango pulp. Put it in a sauce pan and keep aside for half an hour.
Place the sauce pan on low heat. Add a glass of water and start cooking.
When sugar is dissolved, add red colour, adrak, salt, chilli chhuhara and kishmish. Stir while cooking.
When the chutney thickens, switch off the heat.
Cool and serve.
