Tomato Sauce

 

Ingredients

Quantity: 5 cups (Appx.)

  • 500 gms. ripe tomatoes (firm)
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.75 cup cream
  • 1 tsp. white chilli ground
  • 2 tbsp. fine flour (maida)
  • 1 onion paste
  • 2 tbsp. sugar

Method

Dip tomatoes in hot water for a while. Remove their skin and whisk the pulp to make puree.

Heat oil on low heat. Add maida and fry deep till light golden.

Add tomato puree, water, white chilli and onion. Stir and mix together thoroughly.

Cook till the sauce thickens. Add sugar. Stir all the time.

Cook till water dries out.Turn the heat off and add cream. Mix together thoroughly and serve.
